Reverse DNS (PTR) for your IP

Reverse DNS makes your IP resolve back to a hostname, which mail servers and some services expect.

Open a ticket in Server Management with:

  • the IP address (IPv4 or IPv6),
  • the hostname it should resolve to (for example mail.example.com).

Make sure the hostname's forward record (A or AAAA) already points at that IP. The PTR is set within a business day and you are notified on the ticket.

Dedicated servers managed on the Metal panel can set PTR records themselves under IPs.
